Living with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and having to deal with your fearful thoughts can be extremely difficult. It can be tough for people with OCD to have to experience obsessive thoughts that are intrusive, scary, and difficult to manage. As a result, here is a short list of techniques that a person can use to help manage their OCD and their obsessive thoughts The first thing a person must do is not to dwell or focus on the fear provoking thought when it comes. The more a person tries to reason out the thought or focus on the fear behind the thought, the stronger the thought becomes. The next time you encounter an obsessive thought, get into the practice of not dwelling on it. From my interviews with various psychologists, I was told that a person should visualize a red stop sign in their mind when they encounter a fear provoking thought. When the negative thought comes, a person should think of a red stop sign which serves as a reminder to stop focusing on that thought and to...

There s a good reason Tanya Streeter holds multiple world records for free diving. It s all in the training. Here are a few tips from Streeter s own training regimen: First, expect to stick with this plan for 14 weeks. It s rigorous but well worth the time spent and you could very well find yourself improving on your time and stamina in No Limits, Constant Weight or Static and Dynamic Apnea events. Bear in mind that in each phase of training you ll work out for six days and rest on the seventh. Part I Strength Building During Week 1 you ll alternate days between 1 hour of cardio and 1 hour of weight lifting. The cardio training should consist of at least 45 minutes of your heart rate between 65 -85 of maximum. When weight training, lift between 60 -75 of your ability. The first and last thing to do each day is stretching and be sure to stretch the muscles you ll work on that day. For weeks 3-6, you ll alternate between cardio and the treadmill or elliptical machine. Do 2 hours of...

Most people I know have at least one of the necessary qualities of being an artist, so the chances are strong that you too are an artist. Sound unbelievable. Have you always secretly wanted to be considered an artist but are convinced that you just don t have what it takes. The most obvious connection that people make to being an artist is the need to be creative. Anyone who is a true artist must be creative. Sound scary. Keep reading. The great thing, the thing that most people don t take the time to think about, is that being creative can mean a whole lot of things. Most people think of an artist as someone who is able to paint a scene on a canvas or illustrate a children s book. Some artists may be able to do those things, but many more will not. To me, an artist is someone that simply creates new things. Creating new things could mean making something like a piece of pottery or it could mean thinking of a new way to organize a full room in your home. An artist must be somone who...

Having suited cards when playing Texas Holdem can give you a definite advantage. Being suited allows cards that under normal circumstances might be thrown in the muck to suddenly become playable. Hands like QTs, JTs, T9s, 98s, 87s, 76s, or even K9s, Q9s, J9s and so can be played in late position when the pot is sure to be multiway, and have a much better chance of winning compared to their unsuited counterparts. You might be asking yourself, is there really that big of a difference between K9 suited, and K9 offsuit. Even if the difference of winning only changes from say 16 percent to 20 percent, this is not just a 4 percent increase, but is a 25 increase. The value of being able to make a flush can turn a loss into a win. Even in pots with 6 or 7 people involved, a flush will usually be good enough to win you the pot. While flushes don t come in often, when they do the rewards can be enormous. Another benefit to suitedness is having redraws in situations like when you might only...
